Multimodal Statistical Learning in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Anqi Hu, Katherine Trice, Violet Kozloff, Amanda Owen Van Horn, Diane Chugani, Zhenghan Qi
Abstract
Statistical learning refers to the implicit learning process to extract regularities from sensory inputs, and shapes and is shaped in turn by language development. The lack of social requirements to learn such patterns make this a potentially significant mechanism in language learning in autistic children. Do autistic children pick up on such regularities similar to their aged-matched peers? Find out in our talk!
