Abstract

Statistical learning refers to the implicit learning process to extract regularities from sensory inputs, and shapes and is shaped in turn by language development. However, given the difficulties Deaf individuals face in reading acquisition, and differences in early linguistic experience, their statistical learning abilities and its interrelationship with written language skill may differ.
